Kathleen M. Errico is the Director of Advanced Practice Nursing and Chief ARNP at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. She also serves as a clinical professor at the University of Washington School of Nursing. She has been involved with nursing education and teaching nurse practitioners since for over 20 years
Kathleen has been instrumental in creating structural empowerment for nurse practitioners at the University of Washington Medical Center and has developed a career development plan for nurse practitioners. She is the nursing executive liaison to the Advance Practice Nursing Council and Co-Chairs the Advanced Practice Advisory Council, the shared governance council for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
Her research interests are in collaborative practice models for APPs, developing APP productivity and outcomes measures, and nurse practitioner job satisfaction.
Kathleen is member of Nurse Practitioner United of Washington, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the American College of Healthcare Executives. She is member of the Medical Leadership Committee, Medical Staff Advisory, and Credentials Committees at the University of Washington Medical Center.
Kathleen completed her PhD at Portland State University (Public Administration and Policy); Master’s in Nursing at the University of California, Los Angeles, and her undergraduate studies at San Bernardino State University (nursing). She is board certified as a family nurse practitioner (FNP-BC).
Kathleen lives on Whidbey Island in the beautiful Puget Sound and enjoys the scenic views of the sound and mountains. She enjoys ballroom dance, gardening, skiing, photography, and golf.
