Ronna Smith is the APP Education Manager at Seattle Children’s Hospital. She also serves as clinical faculty for the University Of Washington School Of Nursing. As a nurse practitioner, Ronna spent 10 years in pediatric otolaryngology. She currently leads the APP team that rounds on healthy newborns at area hospitals. As a nurse, Ronna spent many years working with the pediatric pulmonary population, specializing in cystic fibrosis and asthma.
Ronna has developed innovative educational opportunities for nurse practitioner and PA students at Seattle Children’s. She is also involved in improving the transition to practice process for new hires and developing several fellowship tracks for graduate APPs. Ronna is actively involved with the APP Leadership Council at Seattle Children’s.
Ronna is a member of Washington State NapNap and is a frequent speaker and contributor to regional educational offerings.
Ronna obtained her BSN from Pacific Lutheran University and got her MSN from the University of Washington. She is board certified as a pediatric nurse practitioner (PNP-BC).
Ronna is an avid reader and tries to make the most of her famously bad Seattle commute by listening to books on tape. She also enjoys gardening and cooking. She spends a lot of time driving her daughters around the state to gymnastic and dance events. Her family enjoys traveling and camping.
