Director, Continuing Education & Nurse Planner
Sarah Gabua is the Director of Continuing Education & Nurse Planner for APPex. In this role she manages the operations & logistics for all virtual/online conferences and events. She also coordinates and serves as a liaison with partner/co-hosting hospitals, healthcare organizations, and professional membership groups. She is also a Program Director of the RN to BSN Completion program at Aspen University. She also serves as a part-time faculty member within a variety of nursing programs, ranging from the associate degree to doctoral level. She was previously a Senior Partner with 2nd Act Consulting where she helped develop several online programs that include RN-BSN to Allied Health. Clinically, she worked in interventional cardiology and radiology as a procedure room nurse.
Sarah is involved in developing a mentoring program for online educators. She is interested further exploring incivility within the academic setting with a focus on faculty and student engagement. She is also very active as a DNP Chair assisting students in the areas of Informatics, Professional Leadership, and Executive Leadership.
Sarah is currently serving on the Florida Nurses Association as the SW Region Director. She previously served as the Secretary and Treasurer for the Illinois Nurses Association, as well as the Chair for the Legislative and Incivility Committees. She also served as a Peer Reviewer for Quality Matters.
Sarah completed her DNP at Walden University and her undergraduate studies at Chamberlain College of Nursing. She is a Certified Nurse Educator through the National League of Nurses (NLN).
Sarah loves to spend time with family traveling throughout Florida. In her spare time, you can find her on the boat or on a cruise.
