The North Carolina Affiliate of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (NCACNM) is the state professional organization for certified nurse-midwives (CNMs). Founded in 1979 as a state chapter of the ACNM with national roots dating back to 1929, NCACNM is committed to setting the standard for excellence in midwifery education and practice in North Carolina. Our members provide healthcare throughout the lifespan, with a special emphasis on pregnancy, childbirth, and gynecologic and reproductive health. NCACNM works with its members and other professional organizations, state agencies and programs to advance the well-being of birthing parents and infants through the practice of midwifery.
