In past several hundred years, healthcare delivery has migrated from a patient’s living room to a hospital room, primarily driven by technology. The continued advances in healthcare related technology have allowed for a transition of care delivery back outside of the walls of a hospital. Developing teams is much more than getting a group of people together that perform a similar role or have a similar goal. In order for teams to be successful and perform at a high level, there needs to be a thoughtful approach to creating and supporting the team. This presentation will provide a framework for creating teams, strategies for developing a healthy team dynamic, and highlight the characteristics and attributes of successful, high-performing teams. Leadership plays a key role in the success of the team and ultimately in the impact the team's work has on the individual and the organization.
