Director, Advanced Practice Providers
Christine Chadwell is the Director of Advanced Practice Providers at The Christ Hospital Health Network in Cincinnati, OH. She was promoted to this new role in July 2015. In addition to this role, she also maintains her clinical practice as a hospitalist nurse practitioner. Christine is also faculty with Northern Kentucky University having taught Clinical Pharmacology for the nurse practitioner program as well as serving as clinical residency faculty. She has previous experience in orthopaedics, allergy /asthma & pulmonology, internal medicine and cardiology as a nurse practitioner. As a nurse, Christine worked in the neurosurgical ICU and cardiac step down unit at the University of Kentucky (Lexington, KY), the telemetry and Surgical ICU at St. Elizabeth Hospital (Edgewood, KY) and in the Emergency Department at The Christ Hospital Health Network (Cincinnati, OH).
Christine is passionate about creating standards of practice by promoting advanced practice providers to perform at the top of scope. With the combined efforts of administration and the APP leaders, she is actively working to create a Transition-to-Practice program for APPs. She recently formed The Center for Advanced Practice. She has successfully created and filled lead APP roles in each service line resulting in APPs having representation at the administrative level. She continues to educate physicians colleagues and administration on the role of APPs and how to best incorporate them into practice models.
Christine is a member of The Society of Hospital Medicine, American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses, Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives, and Sigma Theta Tau. She is an active member of the Comprehensive Medicine Provider Performance Enhancement Committee and the Medical Staff Provider Performance Enhancement Committee. She is actively engaged with Medical staff Credentialing and Privileging of Advanced Practice Providers and is in the process of recruiting for an APP Advisory Council. Christine was not only nominated and completed the inaugural leadership academy sponsored by Medical Staff, but also the first APP.
Christine completed her MSN in 2002 from Northern Kentucky University and her undergraduate degree at the University of Kentucky in 1996. She is board certified by both the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as an Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP).
Christine enjoys traveling with her family, discovering new restaurants and wine with her husband, being with friends, and taking time to slow down. Whenever possible, she is outside digging in the dirt, playing with her kids, playing piano, squeezing in a workout, and maybe even sneaking in a good book.
