Eileen Campbell
Assistant Vice President, Advanced Practice Providers
Eileen F. Campbell is the Assistant Vice President of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and Licensed Independent Practitioners (LIPs) at Cooper University Healthcare (Camden, NJ), an Academic Medical Center and Level 1 Trauma Center. Her administrative responsibilities include oversight and standardization of recruitment/retention, professional development and evaluation, quality and safety, education and research activities for APPs and LIPs. This broad oversight includes Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, CRNAs and Psychologists which comprise approximately 40% of the medical staff. Eileen is credentialed as a Family Nurse Practitioner with Emergency Medicine where she works clinically in the Fast Track area of the ED.
Eileen previously served as the Associate Program Director for the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Pennsylvania where she worked on program development as well as teaching students both in the classroom and in her clinical practice. She practiced as a Family NP in a private family practice where she provided direct care across the lifespan for 18 years. Eileen served as the Director of Clinical Research in her primary care practice where she was the sub investigator in large randomized clinical trials. Prior to becoming an NP, Eileen practiced as an RN in med/surg, oncology and the emergency department in the South Jersey/ Philadelphia region and nationally as a travelling nurse.
Eileen is very involved in promoting the role of APPs and continuing to develop an identity for this valuable workforce. She is a voting member of the Medical Executive Committee, Peer Review Committee, Executive Policy Committee and Credentials Committee. She serves as the Chair for the APP Executive Committee, a multidisciplinary committee who reviews business plans for all new and replacement positions for APPs in the organization. She is the senior advisor for the Advanced Practice Nurse Council. She is a core member of the Resiliency Resource Team, a multidisciplinary team formed during the Covid-19 pandemic to provide education and support to front line staff who experienced high stress levels.
Eileen is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the American Nurses Association (ANA).
Eileen completed her BSN at Boston College and her MSN at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner with ANCC and is licensed as an APN in New Jersey and a CRNP in Pennsylvania.
Eileen enjoys travelling, cooking and yoga. She takes art lessons and especially loves to give her oil paintings to her family!
