Ivonne Johnson
Chief APP Officer
Ivonne Johnson is the Chief APP Officer at AdventHealth Medical Group located in Central Florida. She has been employed by the AdventHealth organization for over 30 years, starting as a nurse working in the med/surg, PCU and critical care areas for a decade. The last 20+ years Ivonne has been practicing as a family nurse practitioner and developed a passion to build an infrastructure to support the APP role. She subsequently was asked to chair the first Advanced Practice Provider (APP) council for this group, and in 2018 transitioned to her leadership position while maintaining some clinical practice.
In this role, Ivonne works closely with the medical group executive leadership team to support and advocate for the 400+ APPs that work in both hospital and practice-based settings. Ivonne participates in APP work force planning, strategy, models of care, role clarity, regulatory changes, and promotion of working top-of-license by creating standards of practice.
Ivonne is a member of the Florida Nurse Practitioner Network (FNPN) and Florida Association of Nurse Practitioners (FLANP) to stay abreast of regulatory changes and advocacy within the State. She is also an active member nationally with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
Ivonne completed her undergraduate studies at Union College in Lincoln, NE. She graduated with an MSN in 1997 from the University of Florida, Gainesville. She is dual board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as an Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) and a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP). In 2010 she graduated from the University of Central Florida with her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
Ivonne enjoys traveling, snow skiing, playing pickleball and spending time with her husband, two daughters and friends.
