Lora Johnstone
Director, Advanced Practice Providers
Lora Johnstone is the Director of Advanced Practice Providers at UCLA Health. She is a member of the American Organization of Nursing Leadership, California Association of Nurse Practitioners and Academy of Neonatal Nurses. She has been an invited speaker for the Florida Association of Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and a poster presenter at the National Association of Neonatal Nurses. She currently serves as Executive Sponsor for the UCLA Health APP Council and previously served four years on the APP Council Board.
Lora is interested in building collaborative relationships that break down barriers to APPs achieving independent practice. Her ongoing initiatives include: improving patient access with utilization of APPs, measuring APP productivity and bettering patient outcomes through the use of APPs.
Lora continues her clinical practice as neonatal nurse practitioner, a role she has held at UCLA Health for 22 years. Prior to her position as Director, Lora served for six years as NP III Supervisor in the NICU.
Lora earned her graduate degree at the University of California, San Francisco and her undergraduate degree at Loma Linda University. She is nationally board certified as a neonatal nurse practitioner by the National Certification Corporation.
In her spare time, Lora enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons. They appreciate spending time together cycling, backpacking, hiking, snowboarding, watching movies or relishing at beautiful day at the beach.
