Lori is the Director of the Texas Gulf Coast Graduate Nursing Education (GNE) Demonstration at Memorial Hermann Hospital-TMC in Houston, TX. She has 20 plus years of professional experience as an acute care nurse practitioner. She previously served as the director of the advanced practice
group at the Memorial Hermann in the Texas Medical Center. She holds a faculty position at the University of Texas Cizik School of Nursing and is actively involved in research and quality improvements projects. Additionally, she is an executive member of the Advanced Practice
Leadership Council and actively seeks to educate and provide support for nurse practitioners.
Lori has focused much of her work on advanced practice development and her clinical practice in the field of cardiology, working as an acute care nurse practitioner for private physicians and Memorial Hermann. She has had publications and speaking engagements focusing on nurse practitioner billing, women and heart failure, graduate nurse education, and general clinical cardiology issues.
In 2014, Lori was honored as one of Houston’s top 20 nurses by the Texas Nurses Association for her nursing advocacy, and also named the recipient of the 2016 AANP State Excellence award for Texas. She was inducted as a Fellow into the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) in 2016.
Lori earned her BSN and MSN at Wichita State University and was in the first Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) class to graduate in 2009 from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
