Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Residency Program

The Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida, is pleased to announce the opening of a Nurse Practitioner Residency Program. We will enroll the first cohort of candidates to this program to start July 1, 2019. This traineeship program has two tracks: one for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and the other for Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. The program is one year in length and offers a stipend and limited benefits. Successful participants will be eligible to apply for nurse practitioner vacancies in the Veterans Health System.
Graduates of a program leading to licensure and certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner are eligible to apply for the PMHNP track. Graduates of a program leading to licensure and certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner are eligible to apply for the AGPCNP track. Degree must have been conferred no more than 12 months prior to the start date of the program.
