The Northwell ACP (PA & NP) Fellowship in Orthopedics is an intense and highly focused program for post-graduate ACPs who desire a career in this challenging field of medicine. The Fellowship Program often serves as a transition between graduate education and the clinical work environment for those entering the program directly from a teaching institution. The goal of this fellowship track is to provide a mentored environment where ACPs will learn the advanced medical knowledge and technical skill-sets necessary to become well-rounded, competent, and ethical practitioners in orthopedic medicine and musculoskeletal care.
The Orthopedic Fellowship track is a comprehensive, one year program where ACPs will work in a variety of clinical settings hosted at multiple Northwell Health Orthopedic Institutes. Gaining exposure to inpatient hospital settings, outpatient office settings and operating room venues will introduce our ACP fellows to the broad range of patient populations and diseases commonly encountered in this sub-specialty.
Fellows accepted into the program will participate in a centralized fellowship curriculum that features an initial two week, in-depth orientation to Northwell Health. Following the orientation, there will be a one-week introduction to EMS so that our Fellows gain exposure to the continuum of care that often starts in the “field”. Throughout the program year, fellows from all specialty tracks will reconvene for inter-professional education where we will present an array of topics with a special focus on the delivery of quality healthcare from a team approach.
