Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center
Critical Care Fellowship
The postgraduate oncology and critical care for advanced practice nurses and physician assistants is an innovative program at the OSUCCC – James.
The program enables advanced practice nurses and physician assistants to gain first-hand clinical experience and knowledge specific to oncology or critical care. Rotations include critical care, emergency department, and disease specific oncology service lines.
As the only cancer program in the country that features a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center aligned with a nationally-ranked academic medical center and a freestanding cancer hospital on the campus of a large public university, the OSUCCC – James provides an exciting professional learning environment that fosters excellence in patient care, education and research.
Our Relationship-Based Care Model, in combination with evidence-based clinical care is the foundation of our fellowship program. The year-long fellowship includes both clinical and didactic study that covers the continuum of cancer care, from prevention and early detection through active treatment and on to survivorship and/or end-of-life care. During the fellowship program, participants will develop core oncology knowledge that will enable them to practice independently in any oncology setting while also having the opportunity to pursue a disease-specific area of focus.
