Orthopaedic Surgery Physician Assistant Fellowship
The Orthopaedic Surgery Physician Assistant Fellowship Program at Riverside University Health System Medical Center strives to recruit and train physician assistants from diverse backgrounds who are interested in providing healthcare to the underserved populations of Riverside County while receiving a high quality broad-based education in Orthopaedics. The fellow will gain competency in evaluation and treatment of trauma patients, outpatient orthopedic clinic patients and first assist in the OR. Our busy outpatient clinic sees on a monthly average 1500 patients with OR cases averaging 220 monthly. Our orthopaedic staff consists of 9 full time and 4 part time, board certified orthopaedic surgeons with sub- specialties in: hand, trauma, total joint replacements, sports medicine, pediatrics and spine.
We offer 3 positions yearly. Positions April, September, December (Flexible). Applications accepted year round with interviews scheduled after completion of application. Applicant does not have to pass the PANCE if currently in school to accept an interview.
The program is a twelve month full time program that requires on an average 60 hours per week not to exceed 80 hours. Program consists of orthopaedic training in clinic, OR, emergency room and wards. The program offers a certificate upon completion. This is a paid position that includes; health benefits, vacation and sick pay as well as an additional week all expenses paid trip to PAOS (Physician Assistants Orthopedic Surgery) Annual Conference. This Conference on average yields twenty five Cat 1 CME credits.
