Advanced Practice Clinician Fellowship Program

The Division of General Internal Medicine of the University of Utah School of Medicine is looking for motivated candidates who are interested in academics to enter the Advanced Practice Clinician Fellowship Program. The program is designed to provide the opportunity for comprehensive training in inpatient medicine, to broaden and strengthen knowledge, and to help develop an analytical and systematic approach in diagnosing and caring for hospitalized adult patients. Fellows will rotate within the infectious disease service, cardiology service, and intensive care unit while receiving essential procedural and echocardiography training. Our goal is to help build confident providers, with effective communication skills, capable of advancing to take on full responsibility and autonomy in patient care.

The program can accommodate two fellows every 12-months, who should be certified and licensed to practice and prescribe nurse practitioners or physician assistants with an active DEA license. Applicants should be interested in professional development, shaping their confidence and efficiency, and caring for hospitalized patients. This program involves collaboration with multidisciplinary support from pharmacy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, social work, and sub-specialist consulting services.
