The Iowa Association of Nurse Anesthetists’ mission is to advance excellence in anesthesia care by meeting our members’ needs and increasing public awareness that CRNA’s provide Iowan’s high quality anesthesia services in all practice settings.

Following a call to meet in conjunction with the Iowa Hospital Association in Des Monies, the Iowa Association of Nurse Anesthetists was organized on April 23, 1940. IANA was later incorporated in 1971 and is part of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.

As the sole anesthesia providers in almost 75% of Iowa’s community hospitals, CRNA’s are a vital to the goal of Iowa being the healthiest state in the country!
