The purpose of the Oklahoma Midwives Alliance (OMA) is to promote safe midwifery practice by protecting and advancing the rights of parents who choose a midwife as their primary birth attendant. The role of the OMA is to facilitate communication between midwives, promote midwifery education, educate the public regarding midwifery and out-of-hospital birth, and assist organizations with a similar purpose. The OMA is a professional organization available to all potential members. Our goal is to represent midwives and consumers regardless of race, religion, or philosophical beliefs.
